How does Environment for Revit integrate with Revit’s native elements?
Environment for Revit adds a new set of tools and functionalities to the existing ones in Revit, allowing for seamless integration. It only uses Revit’s native elements and automates processes, so you can always edit or modify those elements even if you don’t have Environment installed on your machine.
Can Environment improve collaboration between site design and road engineering?
Absolutely! The Environment for Revit® plugin is equipped with a fantastic tool that enables easy export of topographies created within Revit to the widely used LandXML format. With this feature, road engineers can effortlessly synchronize their Civil 3D work with the landscape design model. Additionally, the plugin allows the import of Civil 3D elements into Revit, ensuring a smooth workflow.
What types of files, are compatible with Environment for Revit©?
Is there an Environment addon available for other BIM software?
Currently, we only offer Environment for Autodesk® Revit® Addon
Can Environment for Revit® convert my CAD blocks into Revit Families?
What is the best way to transfer points from CAD survey information into Revit?
For the most precise transfer of points from a CAD survey into Revit, we recommend exporting a CSV file from your CAD software and importing it into Revit to create a surface from the same points. While Revit’s native surface tool offers a “Specify Points File” option, it may not always be placed in the correct location. That’s why we created the “Surface from File” tool, which ensures the elevation points of a surface derived from a CAD file are accurately placed. To place elements such as trees, furniture, or posts, you can use the “Locate Objects” tool to pull the location information of a specific component from CAD to Revit.
Can I use my CAD files in Revit® and Environment? Or I will have to redraw the design?
Yes, you can use your CAD files in Revit and Environment. Revit allows you to import CAD files, and then you can use the native tools of Revit or Environment to modify or develop your design further. However, it is important to note that CAD files do not have the same intelligence as Revit elements, so you will need to add parameters to make them compatible with Revit. This process is relatively easy and can save you a lot of time and effort, especially if you have a complex design.
Is Environment For Revit a rendering software?
No, Environment For Revit is not a rendering software itself. However, it can be effectively used for accurate modeling, which can then be seamlessly integrated with any rendering software supported by Revit, including Twinmotion.
